【Jan.,2023】Introduction of New Core Systems Project
Feb.8, 2023 at 2:36 JST
Our current core system DIKe (Digital Information Knowledge) is already over ten years old, so it will be restructured as part of a new core system project to accommodate global management and changing work styles. Here, we will give you an overview of this project and its objectives.
(New core system project team)
Q. What is the new core system project?
A. A project to 1) establish a global management infrastructure and 2) reconstruct a next-generation core system. The establishment of a global management infrastructure is already underway, and we will proceed with constructing a next-generation core system in the near future.
New Core System Project (1+2)
1. Establishment of a global management infrastructure
●Global budget and performance management (1-A)
Global budget and performance management will be conducted at the headquarters and segment level to ascertain figures of the entire Inabata Group in real time.
●Integration of company and product masters (1-B)
To strengthen global risk management (chemical substance management, security trade control), the Inabata Group will integrate and manage company and product masters.
2. Reconstruction of a next-generation core system
Our current DIKe system will be reconstructed as a new next-generation core system to:
●Comply with the latest IT technical specifications
●Comply with legal requirements (Electronic Bookkeeping Act, invoices)
●Support telecommuting and paperless operations
For the next-generation core system, we will not rebuild all functions from the ground up. Certain parts of the current DIKe system will be reused.
Q. Why are we reconstructing the core system now?
A. In addition to the need to support telecommuting and paperless operations, it is necessary to create an information system infrastructure based on the premise of group consolidation to accommodate the increasing ratio of overseas sales.
Q. What are the future plans?
A. We plan to start the master integration in October 2023, the global budget and performance management in April 2024, and the next-generation core system in August 2025.

DIKe, the core system currently used at IKJ, went into operation in August 2010 after about seven years of development to review business processes and strengthen internal controls.
In the 12 years since then, accounting on a consolidated basis has become increasingly important, and work procedures and environments have changed dramatically, including the introduction of paperless systems and telecommuting. To address these issues, we launched a new core system project in March 2022 with the aim of developing a next-generation core system to replace DIKe by August 2025.
With the new core system, we aim to strengthen management accounting aspects such as budget and performance management to serve as a foundation for global management while responding to changes in the way we work, and to help continue NC2023.
To this end, we will integrate product and company masters to link with SAP and Inabata Fine Tech’s OBIC, which are used at major overseas locations. So, if you are using DIKe, SAP, or OBIC, we may be making requests of you in the future, such as to review your masters. We would appreciate your cooperation in these matters to build a better system.
Comment from the new core system project partner
Tatsushi Fujinaga
Senior Director
Fujitsu Ltd.
The core system DIKe is urgently needed to respond to the changing environment surrounding your company. In addition, since it has been structured to suit your company’s unique business operations (EDI functions, inter-departmental collaboration functions in business processes, etc.), the system is highly complex, so it is necessary to address these issues in a way that minimizes risk.
It is very important that your IT and user departments work together to build new mechanisms to support your business in the future.
Based on the experience we have gained over the years, the entire Fujitsu Group is ready to support you.
